C-Cure 949 Curelastic - 3.5 Gallon

Elastomeric Anti-Fracture Membrane and Adhesive ( Mastic)

A ready-mixed, organic, trowel applied anti-fracture membrane and adhesive developed to install ceramic tile and stone over a variety of substrates.

Texture: Heavy bodied, creamy paste.

Coverage:

Apex 45 - 60 sq. ft per gallon when applied with a 3/16" x 5/32" V-Notch Trowel.

35 - 50 sq. ft per gallon when applied with a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" Square-Notch Trowel

Area of Use: CURELASTIC 949 can be used for interior installations only, over properly prepared concrete, Exterior Grade Plywood (EGP) (dry interior use only), plastic laminate countertops, cementitious backer units, gypsum wallboard (dry interior walls only) and other masonry surfaces.

Application: As An Elastomeric Anti-Fracture Membrane - Over cracks with movement up to 1/8" (3 mm). First stir the pail to a uniform mix. With the flat edge of the trowel, compress the CURELASTIC 949 into cracks and extend beyond both sides of the crack a minimum of the diagonal measurement of the tile to be installed or one foot, whichever is greater. If CURELASTIC 949 is to be used as the anti-fracture material for the tile, i.e., using a 3/16" x 5/32" (5 x 4 mm) V-notch trowel or a 1/4" x 1/4" x 1/4" (6 x 6 x 6 mm) square-notch trowel, apply sufficient material to produce full ridges with no voids.
Then, flatten the ridges using the flat edge of the trowel producing a continuous coating with no voids.

Allow membrane to dry for 24 hours before application of tile bond coat..

Tile setting may be accomplished by using the CURELASTIC (see As An Adhesive section) or one of C-Cure’s latex-modified dry-set mortars such as MULTICURE® 905, PRO M-FLEX STRATA® FASTSET 914-FS, QUICKCURE 908 or PERMABOND® 902 mixed with CURECRYLIC® PREMIUM 939

As an Adhesive (meets ANSI A136.1 Type I) First stir the pail to a uniform mix. Using the flat edge of the appropriate trowel, spread a thin layer of the CURELASTIC 949 to key into the substrate. Then comb additional CURELASTIC 949 to achieve 100% coverage and a depth of 1/32" (.8 mm) for wall tiles and 3/32" (2.4 mm) for floor tiles. Set tiles into the CURELASTIC 949 before it skins over, approximately 20 minutes depending on ambient conditions.

NOTE: When using as an adhesive for marble, set several pieces and allow to dry for 16 hours to test for staining. Allow tiles to set until firm 24 to 48 hours in most cases before grouting. For vitreous tiles, 72 hours may be necessary.

Conforms to the requirements of Organic Adhesives as found in ANSI A136.1. Type I and II and ANSI A108.4, Installation of Ceramic Tile with Organic Adhesives.
